What is Sunflower Auction?
Sunflower Auction is an online fanworks auction, designed to raise money for nonprofit organizations that help the people of Ukraine fight back against Russia's invasion.


Who are you?
Two people* in a trenchcoat, pretending to be one very tall mod!

As of 2025, this is run solo by dhampyresa.

What charities do you support?
We have a list of supported organizations here. dhampyresa's preference is Come Back Alive and yuuago's preference is Polish Humanitarian Action, if you need inspiration.


What fandoms are included?
Any of them, including original work! There are no restrictions on fandom or pairing/gen or rating or whatever. Anything goes and everyone is invited.


Are you selling fanworks?
No. People donate directly to non-profits. As thanks, a creator creates a gift work.


Is there a Tumblr for this auction?
Yes. Updates will be posted at Dreamwidth first, then crossposted to the Sunflower Auction Tumblr.


How do I participate in the auction?
Creator signups are now closed. Bidding will open soon.

Yes! Beta reading and/or accuracy-picking is a selectable offer option in the signup form. For translation, I would recommend selecting 'other' and writing it in.

Augh, I neglected to add in my sign-up that I will need a longer timeline for delivering the work in question than June 10th. Is there a way for me to edit my form? (I didn't have it send me a copy.)

I think we can edit that in on the back end, and add in the notes that you'll need more than a year. I don't think there would be an issue with that as long as it's clear to your bidders up front.

No, it's fine, we can edit it on the back end. Just tell us which field you want edited and what to replace the current content with.

It's not perfect but it should give you a rough idea of what would be a good way to price it.

hi! I just realised I probably should have put one of my offers as 2 separate sign ups, as I wanted to offer items separately for 2 winners/one winner bidding for both auctions and I can no longer edit the form. It's art offer in line 18 on a google sheet, I signed as c.art. Would it still be possible to change it to one auction for inked drawing and one for digital portrait in the dreamwidth offer post? (fandom, dnws etc are the same for both items)

OK, so you want two auction slots: slot 1 for inked drawing, and slot 2 for digital portrait? Yes, we can do this. It won't show on the offer spreadsheet at this stage, but we will do it in the background for you.

For the inked drawing slot, what is the precise scope you want? Currently on the form is:
one inked illustration of 1-2 characters colored digitally (waist up)
Do you want to keep that exact wording?

Donation receipt for bank transfers

Hi! So looking at the options I can currently only pay through wire transfer, safe to say that I won't be getting a donation receipt from that, am I able to send a screenshot of my payment statement or something similar?

That's a good question.

Do you know if you get a confirmation screen showing the amount transferred and who it was transferred to? If so, a screenshot of that would do (with all your personal info blacked out).

Otherwise, a screenshot of the line on the statement would work as well.

How do i contact creators offering to discuss other ships/fandoms if their ao3 has no info?

If you email us with the username that they're using for the auction, we can pass on the question + your contact info to them.

I'm a creator making material objects. I know we're supposed to fill out the Google form when we finish something for our winning bidder. Since I will be mailing my items, should I mark them as complete on the Google form when I send it or when my bidder receives it?

My assumption would be "when bidder receives it" but my wife thought I should ask. I will have tracking numbers for everything, either way.

That's a good question!

You can do either; it's up to you. Another option is to notify us by PM after everything has been sent, and then fill out the form to give a more official notice after your bidder receives your work.
